Brutality: Ruins of humans
30/04/13 || gk
Floridan death metal band Brutality return after almost 17 years of silence with a short 2 song EP and this caught me by surprise cause I had no idea these guys were back. Getting to the music itself, Brutality has managed to retain their distinct sound and the 2 songs here combine the band’s penchant for slightly technical riffs mixed with groove and melody and make for an enjoyable 14 minutes. With this being the original line up that recorded “Screams of anguish” the band sounds tight and focused and these 2 songs are pretty kick ass. I’m not sure what the plans are for a full length but judging from the strength of these 2 songs here, it could be something worth listening to. For now, “Ruins of humans” serves me quite well.
8/10: Old school Floridan death metal done right.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
